Our referral program is a way for you to earn Shopping Rewards by referring friends and family to Capital One Shopping. 

Current Eligible Customers:

• Send your unique referral link to anyone you think would love Capital One Shopping.
• If the referred customer completes all the steps below, you are eligible for Shopping rewards!
• There is no limit to how many referrals you can send, but there is a limit to the amount you are able to receive in referral bonuses.

In order for you both to receive a referral bonus, your referred customer must complete the following steps:

• Sign up for Capital One Shopping for the first time using the unique referral link sent to them
• Install the Capital One Shopping desktop extension or Safari iOS browser extension and enable full permissions
• Verify their account with a valid, unique email address 
• Regularly use the extension for 90 days 

Bonuses will be automatically applied to you and your referred customer’s Capital One Shopping accounts within 30 days of completion of these steps. 

The referral program is only available for selected accounts based in the United States. Both the referred customer and referring customer must be based in the United States and referral links cannot be used outside the United States. Only for participants 18 years and older. The Refer a Friend program is currently offering bonus referral incentives to a limited number of users. If you do not see a referral option on your account, please check back at a later time. We are constantly updating our offerings to make sure you get the best experience possible.

Referred customers will be able to check on their referral status on the Rewards & Savings page.

Referrers will be able to check the status of their referrals on their Referrals History page under account settings.

Bonuses will be automatically applied to the Capital One Shopping accounts of the referrer and referred customer within 30 days after all program requirements have been satisfied, including the referred customer’s 90 days of regular use of the extension.

Common reasons for not receiving a referral bonus may include, but are not limited to:

• The referred customer didn't sign up for Capital One Shopping through a referral link
• The referred customer is not a first time Capital One Shopping user
• The referred customer didn’t correctly install the Capital One Shopping desktop or mobile browser extension
• The referred customer uninstalled the extension or changed extension permissions during the 90-day period
• The referred customer did not verify their email address 
• The referred customer did not use the extension regularly during the 90-day period
• The referrer has already reached their referral bonus limit for a referral period
• The referred customer or referrer engaged in conduct prohibited by the Terms of Service

There is no limit on how many friends you can invite. However, there is a limit to the total amount of Shopping Rewards an account can earn in referral bonuses.

If a current customer reaches their referral bonus limit, their bonus for a subsequent successful referral may be reduced in order to remain within their bonus limit. However, the referred customer will receive the full referral bonus amount, assuming completion of all program requirements.

Some examples of using the Capital One Shopping browser extension include:

- Visiting a merchant’s website with the extension installed

- Engaging with our extension to find coupons or enable savings

- Making purchases that earn Shopping Rewards

Purchases are not required in order to be eligible to receive a referral bonus.

Referred customers must use the extension roughly on a weekly basis throughout the duration of their first 90 days in order to be eligible for a referral bonus.
