U.S. eCommerce sales totaled $282.3 billion in the second fiscal quarter (Q2) of 2024, up 6.58% year-over-year YoY. 

  • Adjusted for seasonal variation, retail e-commerce sales totaled an estimated $291.6 billion in 2024 Q2, or 16.0% of total retail sales for the quarter. 
  • From 2023 Q2 to 2024 Q2 e-commerce sales increased 256% faster than total retail sales; total sales increased 1.85% in this period.
  • As of 2024 Q2, e-commerce accounts for 15.2% of all retail sales in the U.S.
  • eCommerce as a percentage of retail sales is up 4.65% YoY. 
  • In 2024 Q1, U.S. e-commerce sales totaled $268.0 billion, up 8.42%.
  • In the first eight (8) months of 2024, e-commerce sales totaled $863.7 billion, up 9.95% from the same period in 2023.
